High School Musical 3: Senior Year

The phenomenon of both High School Musical movies has just been amazing, and I am so excited to be doing "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." I anticipated that shooting for HSM 3 would be even more intense than HSM 2, so I knew that I had to be prepared when filming began. HSM 2 had more dancing than the original and I know that HSM 3 will be even more challenging. To prepare for my role, I worked out regularly to get my body ready for the dance sequences. With my ballet training it was easy to get back on track for the intense regimen. I’m very excited about the shoot and I’m thrilled to be back with the cast and crew.

Thinking back just a few years ago when I did the first HSM, I remember how nervous I was. Now, I'm just happy and ready. I've worked with the cast before, and director Kenny Ortega is great. Going into the shoot is like going back home. The movie will be filmed in Utah, so that’s familiar territory for me. I love the cast and working with them is like hanging out with really good friends. HSM is something that I've grown up with. I was cast right out of high school in the first one, and I was in college right before HSM 2. Going into HSM 3, I now have more experience. I actually just finished shooting a comedy before getting the call for HSM 3.

My life has changed so much because of HSM. The popularity of the movie has opened doors for me and my experience with the projects has been phenomenal. I've been asked about the title of this third installment and let me assure you that it has not changed. The title is definitely "High School Musical 3." The only thing different is that the characters are now all seniors and we've grown up a bit. I will let you know more about HSM 3 over the filming of the project.

I remember attending the HSM 2 premiere event and thinking that the paparazzi, the fans and just the general excitement of it all seemed like a crazy dream. I had been busy shooting Major Movie Star with Jessica Simpson so I hadn't seen the movie, except for a few clips, so I was very excited. HSM 2 is wonderful and I was so pleased at how Kenny Ortega was able to retain the freshness and creativity of HSM into HSM 2. I can't wait for HSM 3!

Kenny Ortega, who directed HSM and HSM 2 will direct. "I am the luckiest guy in the world and I know it … This will be our last time together and I love working with these kids so much. It's going to be great."Kenny Ortega said in a recent People Magazine interview. The high-energy musical and dance sequences will stay true to the HSM format, only this time HSM 3 promises to be bigger and better than the first two.
